Chicago and Eastern Illinois GP-50 #241
The C&EI never really had any of Electro-motive Division's 3800 horsepower GP-50's, and if they did, they would not have been painted in this attractive scheme used by their passenger train power. A typical EMD hood unit of this class would be a GP-35, which is similar to our #241, and shown below.

Our DS&N version of this C&EI GP-50 is from Backyard Rails of Wisconsin. Powered by the rugged Kohler Magnum M8, it features a full hydrostatic drive, with all axles driven. Control is via hand-held control stands attached to the MU receptacle.
